Prof Pat Brereton worked as a project engineer with Ericson for many years after leaving Ireland with an arts degree. He then moved into Education, working at Northampton College and Luton University - before moving back home to DCU. Prof Brereton has since published several books on the intersection of cinema and environmentalism, including his most recent work, Environmental Literacy and New Digital Audiences (2019). His research has been published in a variety of peer-reviewed publications including Environmental Communication, The Journal of Cultural Studies and Applied Environmental Education and Communication. He also worked on the COST network on Alternative Energy and Landscape. After a successful stint as a Head of the School of Communications in DCU, Prof Brereton is currently researching the representation of fracking in cinema. |
